by EmerlynI didn’t know you’d be this upset, I’m so sorry ㅜㅜ… Since everyone else is busy, I’ll at least apologize myself…The Guild Master said he’s busy checking the guild applications…If you submit an application and wait, you might get a response…
The username of this comment that was sure to attract attention was none other than Capybara.
[Guild] Capybara: ㅠㅠ Yes…
[Guild] Capybara: I’m sorry
Though Lucky’s post did mention submitting apology letters today, neither Cheong-hyeon, Seo Hee-won, nor anyone else had paid it any mind. The problem was that there wasn’t a single person who had told the sensitive Capybara that he didn’t need to worry about writing an apology.
Naturally, chaos erupted in the comments below Capybara’s post. “Are you mocking us by telling us to submit applications?”, “As expected, Seohee1’s guild members have terrible personalities,” “With a Guild Master like that, how could the members be normal?” and so on… Criticism toward the guild intensified, and public opinion began to turn against them.
[Guild] Marachip: I encouraged him to do it…
[Guild] Capybara: I didn’t think it would make them more angry ㅠㅠ
[Guild] Marachip: I’m sorry, I just wanted to tease them a bit…ㅜㅜ
[Guild] Capybara: Huh?
[Guild] Capybara: But you said earlier it would make them feel better ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
The children seemed to get along well, but it appeared they had managed to cause trouble. This current situation was the result of a terrible combination of Capybara’s unfiltered honesty and Marachip’s bouncy ideas—these strengths had interacted in some inexplicable way to create an impressive weakness.
[Guild] Tiramisush: You MaraBara rascals!
[Guild] Tiramisush: Well done ㅋㅅㅋ
[Guild] Tiramisush: Stirring things up~ Makes me wonder how mad they are.
Tiramisush patted Capybara and Marachip’s heads alternately.
[Guild] Seohee1: Hmm…
[Guild] Seohee1: The intended message is clear.
[Guild] Seohee1: And suggesting alternatives based on facts is excellent.
While Seo Hee-won was giving feedback that seemed out of place here, Cheong-hyeon and Heekkom issued a ban on keeping access to the forum post from troublemakers. It was a decision made to protect the emotional well-being of growing teenagers from the flood of malicious comments coming their way.
As the brief commotion subsided, their break time came to an end. They gathered in front of the dungeon again to continue practicing for Mystic Mine. Thanks to Jimni’s perfect enhancement of her 8-billion-gold shoes, they had made considerable progress in their strategy.
Now when the third Grack was summoned, everyone skillfully avoided the collapsing floor and gathered in the center. As they dodged the randomly striking iron mace while dishing out damage, Grack put down his weapon and hunched over.
In that state, he began breathing out heavily with “hoof-hoof” sounds, and if left alone, ore would sprout all over his body, preventing any damage. Seeing this development in Grack, Jimni quickly raised his shield and pushed forward. Grack was temporarily stunned, canceling the pattern.
This much was going to be easy now.
Following Jimni’s confident words, they continued their attack smoothly. When Grack’s health dropped below 10%, he moved to the center of the map and swung his iron mace widely. It was behind Jimni, who was drawing aggro. The round weight of the mace flew to the edge of the cliff, landing with a thud, and as Grack gripped the handle with both hands and lowered his body, the chain connected to the weight pulled taut.
Should we avoid this?
Sensing danger from this unfamiliar pattern, Cheong-hyeon instinctively moved behind Grack to position himself. Seo Hee-won did the same.
“There’s not much time left! I’ll keep drawing aggro, so just keep attacking!”
While Jimni shouted urgently, Grack turned halfway around and planted his feet firmly on the ground. As he pulled the iron mace, the round weight began to spin quickly, making threatening wind sounds. From Grack’s central position to the cliff—exactly the radius of the attack range—was now spinning in one direction.
Unable to avoid the taut chain, Jimni was hit once and became immediately stunned. Unable to regain her senses, she was helplessly pushed back and eventually fell off the cliff.
“Argh! Why won’t the stun wear off?!”
Hearing that scream, Seo Hee-won used teleport in the opposite direction of the chain to easily avoid it, and Cheong-hyeon used Shadow Step to move behind Grack once more.
“Uh, uhh…”
Capybara also tried to follow Seo Hee-won by urgently using teleport, but he used the skill in the same direction as the chain, making it look like he was desperately fleeing. In the end, unable to outrun the approaching speed, he was hit by the chain and pushed off the cliff. Jimni, who had already become a corpse, cackled at the sight.
“Is this sloth hell?”
[Party] Capybara: ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
They were eventually kicked out of the dungeon due to the time limit.
“Let’s go again.”
“Again, again, again…” Seo Hee-won’s “again” continued for about three hours. He would analyze recordings of their attempts, giving others a chance to rest a bit. Cheong-hyeon found it amazing how Seo Hee-won never seemed to tire, so dedicated to Mystic Mine. Thanks to him, their strategy, which had seemed to hit a dead end, slowly began to come together.
Time-out in 10 seconds. Pattern in…seconds.
“Okay!”
Following Seo Hee-won’s briefing, Jimni began to create distance from Grack and retreat toward the cliff. Exactly 3 seconds later, Grack threw his iron mace to the edge of the ground just like before.
Jimni struck the round weight several times with a clang-clang sound, and Grack retrieved his iron mace with a loud roar. While Jimni drove his shield into the ground to withstand the fierce gust of wind, Cheong-hyeon, Capybara, and Seo Hee-won poured attacks onto Grack. Only 4 seconds remained. Cheong-hyeon quickly checked the remaining cooldown on his skills. The [Dark Swordsmanship] skill, which dealt decent damage to a single target, had a 3-second cooldown left.
Grack’s health was almost depleted. It seemed like they could clear it if they just kept dealing damage. At that moment, Grack suddenly turned toward Cheong-hyeon and prepared to attack. It was a mistake that occurred because the anxious Jimni had used an attack skill instead of an aggro-drawing skill.
As the DPS and healer scattered to escape the attack range, they lost precious DPS. With the goal right in front of them, Seo Hee-won spoke in a highly sensitive tone.
“What are you doing? The aggro’s shifting.”
“Ah, sorry. Argh! I’m really sorry!”
“No, it’s okay.”
With 1 second left on the time limit, his skill cooldown had reset. Grack lifted his iron mace toward Cheong-hyeon once more. Instead of immediately using Dark Swordsmanship, Cheong-hyeon used Shadow Step. His character disappeared into Grack’s shadow.
If he used an attack skill immediately at this time, it would register as attacking from Grack’s front. Waiting until his character fully emerged from the shadow would allow for a reliable ambush, but waiting that long would result in a timeout. Waiting for that subtle moment in between, just as his character began to slightly emerge, Cheong-hyeon used the Dark Swordsmanship skill.
Red damage numbers appeared above Grack’s head, depleting his remaining health completely. The massive body fell to its knees and collapsed sideways with a thud. Loud cheers came through the wireless earphones. The ambush had succeeded.
