by EmerlynNot seeing the last chat message, Seo Hee-won couldn’t contain his rising irritation and jumped up from his seat. He flopped onto the sofa bed in one corner of the room and fumed. Just look at them wearing matching outfits. Anyone would think they were a couple.
…Even though he said he’d wait. Just because I’m a little late, he goes off playing with another healer. It’s like any healer will do for him. It doesn’t have to be me specifically…
Seo Hee-won had driven through the dark night despite his parents telling him to stay overnight. It was because he wanted to spend a little more time with Lee Cheong-hyeon. But Lee Cheong-hyeon seemed to view him as merely a convenient but replaceable part…
Having no immunity to such situations, Seo Hee-won’s mood plummeted. He was so hurt it was driving him crazy. He also felt pathetic for being upset over something so trivial. As he lay there motionless, a notification sound rang from his phone. Without checking, he had a feeling it was a message from Lee Cheong-hyeon. Seo Hee-won, who had always kept his phone on silent or vibrate mode, had set a notification sound for only one person.
Seo Hee-won was in no mood to check the message. No matter who it was, even if it was from Lee Cheong-hyeon, he didn’t want to see it when he felt this hurt.
But he must be worried since I suddenly disappeared.
After ignoring it for exactly five seconds, Seo Hee-won stealthily picked up his phone.
Lee Cheong-hyeon: Where did you go?
Lee Cheong-hyeon: Did you disconnect?
Lee Cheong-hyeon: Or are you sulking?
Seo Hee-won: ㅡㅡ
Seo Hee-won: You said you’d wait.
Unable to hold back, Seo Hee-won sent a petulant message. He regretted it immediately, but couldn’t take it back.
Lee Cheong-hyeon: I did that because I was worried you’d be tired.
Lee Cheong-hyeon: You didn’t get much sleep running dungeons at dawn.
Lee Cheong-hyeon: Thought you’d be exhausted from driving too.
Lee Cheong-hyeon: I was planning to help with your quests and then let you sleep.
Lee Cheong-hyeon: Come quick so we can finish early and get you to bed.
Lee Cheong-hyeon, who usually lived for the fun of teasing and tormenting him, occasionally showed this kind of tenderness. Even though Seo Hee-won knew perfectly well these were just words to appease him, he sat back down at his computer and invited Lee Cheong-hyeon to his party. What a fool he was.
[Couple] Seohee1: That outfit is awful.
[Couple] Ittorang: Why? I bought it for 400 million…
[Couple] Seohee1: It’s distracting and looks like it’ll draw aggro in the field.
[Couple] Seohee1: Change to a different outfit.
[Couple] Ittorang: We don’t have time now. Need to go do daily quests quickly.
[Couple] Seohee1: That’s why you should change quickly.
In the end, Lee Cheong-hyeon changed back to the Fall in Love set he had been wearing previously. It was the same outfit Seo Hee-won was wearing. Only then was Seo Hee-won satisfied and they moved together to the field.
Biz of God was famous for its well-chosen background music that matched the atmosphere of each map. One of the popular tracks was “Little Wind,” which could be heard around Gruter Village. This background music could also be heard in the “Warm Fields” where Lee Cheong-hyeon was standing.
The leisurely melody of a harp that seemed to make worries disappear just by listening, the wide-open expanse of fields, and the clear blue sky. Even just standing still, one’s heart couldn’t help but feel peaceful on this field. The Normal People Guild and Seven Guild were facing off against each other right then.
How did this situation arise? It was all because of one word Cheong-hyeon had carelessly uttered when he saw Lucky in the field: ‘Lucky is here.’ As guild members gathered one by one to watch, Seven also began to call their remaining guild members.
Nearly twenty people gathered from the Normal People Guild, which had gradually expanded its size. Being a weekend, and with quite a few members who had transferred from Seven, many guild members saw it as an interesting spectacle. Meanwhile, Seven had only eight people, including Lucky.
[General] Lucky: Trying to win with numbers is too cowardly 🙁
[General] Seohee1: lol Still don’t know your place.
[General] Seohee1: Already forgot getting crushed in the 6v6 Holy War?
[General] Tiramisush: It was so boring I played with my feet then ㅇㅅㅇ
[General] Heekkom: But didn’t you bring 6 reserves in the Holy War? haha..
[General] Jimni: Yeah, who tried to overwhelm with numbers first.
[General] Marachip: lol lol lol lol And then got completely destroyed 3:0
[General] Marachip: ???: Let’s see what happens in the Holy War <actual quote>
[General] Marachip: ???: Bring an apology letter if you don’t want to quit the game during every battle tournament <actual quote>
[General] Marachip: I’m looking forward to what you’ll…do this time!
The verbal battle began with Lucky’s chat breaking the silence first. Thinking it wouldn’t be good for the kids’ emotional well-being, Lee Cheong-hyeon wanted to send Marachip and Capybara back to town, but seeing how excited Marachip was, he knew they wouldn’t listen. Meanwhile, Lucky’s strangely irritating chat messages continued.
[General] Lucky: The Holy War was disappointing because our new freelancer couldn’t heal properly 🙁
[General] Seohee1: Typical of a terrible DPS.
[General] Seohee1: All they know how to do is blame the healer.
[General] Lucky: The healer difference was a fact 🙂
[General] Lucky: Honestly isn’t it a bit unfair that some get full support while dealing damage.
[General] Lucky: While I played almost alone without any support.
[General] Seohee1: Whining disgustingly.
[General] Seohee1: Just admit you were terrible^^
Lee Cheong-hyeon was more bothered by Lucky’s constant blaming of the healer than anything else. It was an ambiguous feeling where he couldn’t pinpoint the exact reason, but he found that reason in Lucky’s next words.
[General] Lucky: If we had just switched priests, I would have carried and won.
[General] Ittorang: Excuse me, Lucky.
[General] Ittorang: I find it unpleasant that you’ve been coveting someone else’s priest^^;
[General] Lucky: ?
Everyone clearly knew that the priest who used to be in Lucky’s party was Seo Hee-won. In that situation, to blame the new priest and then hypothesize about switching with Seo Hee-won, Lucky was clearly a pathetic DPS who was pretending otherwise while longing for the days when he partied with Seo Hee-won.
Regardless of the truth, that was exactly how it appeared to Lee Cheong-hyeon. Enjoying a comfortable gaming life with Seo Hee-won at his side, Lee Cheong-hyeon began to guard against the shameless Lucky who was eyeing “his precious healer.”
[General] Ittorang: Well, there aren’t many healers like Seohee1 around.
[General] Ittorang: I understand why you’d have lingering feelings.
[General] Lucky: What nonsense are you talking;
[General] Ittorang: He’s my healer now^^;
[Guild] Hyutzzi: Is this some kind of love triangle? Drama?
[Guild] Tiramisush: It looks like he’s fighting off an ex-boyfriend ㅇㅅㅇ
Whatever the guild members’ reactions, a touched voice could be heard from the phone connected to Seo Hee-won, saying, ‘Hyung…’
[General] Ittorang: Stop eyeing someone else’s healer and go away.
[General] Lucky: Are you crazy?
[General] Lucky: I just said our healer was terrible **
[General] Lucky: I wouldn’t even take it if you gave it to me, what the hell
[General] Lucky: Crazy people hanging out together.
[General] Ittorang: So you’re saying Seohee1 was better than your priest.
[General] Ittorang: No matter what other healer you use, you’re unsatisfied.
[General] Ithorang: You keep thinking about the care Seohee1 used to provide.
[General] Ittorang: You want to go back to the days when you partied with Seohee1.
[General] Ittorang: It’s so obvious.
[General] Lucky: That’s not it **
No matter how much Lucky denied it, Lee Cheong-hyeon wouldn’t believe him. Having experienced it painfully himself, Lee Cheong-hyeon knew Lucky couldn’t be any different.
[Guild] Heekkom: Lucky is so pissed lol lol lol
[Guild] Heekkom: Ittorang, why are you so funny?
[Guild] Heekkom: But is this a concept…?
Concept? Lee Cheong-hyeon was more serious than ever. While there was no chance Seo Hee-won would abandon him and choose someone like Lucky, he was genuinely annoyed. The moment Lee Cheong-hyeon resolved to kill that despicable Lucky and firmly establish his position as a melee DPS, Lucky tried to attack first. It was a common pattern, showing aggression when there was nothing to refute with.
Though the battle was sudden, everyone on Lucky’s side seemed to have planned it in advance as they all targeted Lee Cheong-hyeon first. The Normal People Guild also began to respond quickly, but with too many people, there was momentary confusion as guild members accidentally hit each other with attacks.
Lee Cheong-hyeon survived as best he could by dodging attacks with movement alone in the wide-open field where there was nowhere proper to hide. He couldn’t lose here and disappoint Seo Hee-won.
[Guild] Jimni: This is too chaotic.
[Guild] Jimni: Spectators, please step back!
As Jimni directed traffic and guild members engaged the Seven Guild members one by one, the attacks pouring down on Lee Cheong-hyeon also decreased. However, he had taken quite a few hits during that time, and despite Seo Hee-won’s healing, his health was at a critical state.
In a situation where one more hit would kill him, Lee Cheong-hyeon saw an arrow coming from the front and dodged to the right. The dodge was good, but unfortunately, a narrow, round area of effect appeared at that position. It was a binding skill that kept enemies in place.
Lucky rushed at Lee Cheong-hyeon, who was bound and unable to move. Seo Hee-won could be seen trying to heal from a distance, but even with healing, Lee Cheong-hyeon had already lost too much health to survive.
