by EmerlynIn the third stage, the guild that delivered the final blow to boss Rauhen would win the final victory, so the outcome couldn’t be guaranteed until the very end. It was a game where they needed to remain careful and maintain tension until the finish, but the Normal People Guild members were simply overjoyed.
“I’m going to get the final hit!”
“Why are you craving the cutscene when you don’t even have the Creation skin?”
“Shut up!”
Jimni, who ultimately failed to obtain the Creation skin, let out a lion’s roar. In Holy Wars, when you defeat Rauhen and achieve final victory, the character who landed the final blow always gets a close-up, with the boss-killing scene shown in slow motion.
This sparked greed to capture a glamorous shot of one’s character, often leading to competition for the final hit even among teammates. One had to be careful, as sometimes players would save skills while watching others, only to have the opposing team steal the final blow.
Tiramisush and Heekkom joined in, bickering about who would get the final hit, completely disregarding the Seven Guild. They showed no concern about losing the victory.
Of course, Cheong-hyeon felt the same way. Having acquired buffs from both stage 1 and 2 bosses, no one could defeat Cheong-hyeon in a 1:1 fight. In this type of situation, Seven winning would be impossible without a miracle.
The match progressed smoothly. Rauhen was a boss that attacked users while moving between ground and sky. When on the ground, players had to be careful of the whirlwinds created by its wings. If caught carelessly, one could be thrown far away or even blown into the opposing team’s territory.
Besides that, there were numerous patterns to watch out for: meteor pits that slowed movement when stepped on, sharp slashing leaves, and more. When Rauhen was on the ground, guilds had no time for combat against each other. Player battles occurred when Rauhen rose to the sky, but even then, caution was needed as feathers piercing down from the sky could cause significant damage.
Heekkom noticed a shadow appearing directly to the right of the enemy Knight—a warning that a feather would fall there. Using boss patterns to immobilize opponents was Heekkom’s specialty. Ice Spear flew, grazing the left arm of the enemy Knight.
With no escape route, the Knight chose to endure with a shield raised. Cheong-hyeon used the Shadow Step skill to approach. With Seo Hee-won providing support fire from a distance, the opponent, despite being the main tank, couldn’t withstand Cheong-hyeon’s attack and died.
With Rauhen’s health nearly depleted and hovering in the sky, this was the perfect timing to annihilate the opponents. A fierce battle ensued, but Seven was already down one member. After overwhelming Seven with firepower and eliminating all of them, Rauhen descended to the ground with exactly one health bar remaining.
All guild members rushed in, pouring attacks with the single-minded goal of getting the final shot. In an instant, Rauhen collapsed with a roar, shown in a close-up. A black shadow cast over it, and as the camera panned, the protagonist that happened to be revealed was Cheong-hyeon’s character, Ittorang.
“Ah! My shot was stolen!”
Disappointed voices came from all around while only Cheong-hyeon was satisfied with the result. His focus on the boss’s health, even more than when defeating Lucky, had paid off. With majestic background music playing, the camera rotated 360 degrees around Ittorang, who wore cute puppy ears and mysterious sunglasses.
The puppy ears, completely incongruous with the atmosphere, somehow matched perfectly, bringing forth laughter. Ittorang used the Dark Swordsmanship skill, creating a brilliantly sparkling dark blue galaxy along the dagger’s trajectory. The rippling skill effect left afterimages as it disappeared, and the scene ended as Rauhen’s eyes slowly closed.
[Ittorang has defeated the Ancient God Rauhen]
[Normal People Guild Victory]
[Normal People Guild wins the second match as well, taking all stages!]
Inside the studio prepared for commentary, Heo Jeong and Kim Daehyuk continued broadcasting with excited faces.
“Seven Guild had two player substitutions in this match. Despite that, they were defeated. What do you think was the cause, Daehyuk?”
“First, the Normal People Guild’s teamplay was excellent. And Ittorang player was practically unstoppable. No one could contain him!”
“That’s right. Especially Player Lucky never managed to defeat Ittorang. With Normal People at 2 points and Seven at 0, if the third match goes one-sided like this, Normal People guild will be the final champions. To counter Ittorang, it might be better if Lucky steps down and they bring in two ranged DPS.”
“Ah…but it doesn’t look good when a guild leader sits out a guild match. This is a matter of guild pride, so Seven will need to make a big decision.”
“Yes, whether they choose victory or pride, Seven needs to make a decision—oh, Seven Guild is substituting players as we speak! Lucky player has moved to reserve and Player bowwow has joined as a main player! As the Wind attribute Archer!”
“Ah! In the end, it becomes a Lucky team without Lucky! His pride must be severely hurt. But honestly, this is the right move. Does pride win championships? It looks like Seven Guild has made a wise choice in the end.”
“That’s right. Seven Guild absolutely must win this match. Otherwise, they could end up losing both the championship and their pride. Still, employing two ranged DPS could be a pretty good strategy, so this match is worth looking forward to.”
[Seven lost coolly again.]
[Lucky wasn’t doing much anyway.]
[If they lose like this, it’ll be a legendary embarrassment.]
While Seven agonized over removing Lucky from the lineup, Normal People Guild seemed to have no worries.
Capybara and Marachip had brought plenty of items from their inventory like [Moonlit Flower], [Abel’s Rose], and [Blooming Sunflower], scattering them around the waiting room to make it more vibrant. The atmosphere was already that of a championship team. In the middle of that flowery field, Tiramisush and Jimni were using dance emotes.
“The third match begins! Ah~ It’s too bad this is already the last match.”
“I agree…Wait, no! If Seven wins this match, there will be another match, right? No one can predict the results yet! Please be careful with statements that could be problematic.”
“Ah, that’s right! It’s not over until it’s over. Let’s watch together to see how this match unfolds!”
[Lololololol it’s definitely the last match.]
[If these guys get fired, who will do the commentary.]
[Congratulations on your early clock-out.]
Contrary to expectations that Seven might finally take control of the match, despite bringing two ranged DPS to counter Ittorang, they failed to achieve meaningful results.
“The Normal People Guild has defeated the gatekeeper Seine.”
“All members of the Normal People Guild gain experience and skill points.”
“Seohee1 receives the Seine Hunter buff effect.”
“Moving to the deserted underground.”
“Seine buff goes to Seohee1!”
“Seohee1 player takes the Sane buff!”
“Ah~ Seven must be so disappointed. Their decision to bind Ittorang and focus on Sane was good, but they lost the final hit to Seohee1. The buff should have gone to our DPS~ I was impressed by Seohee1’s mindset of ‘Rather than give it to you, I’ll take it myself.'”
“Actually, I had some connection with Player Seohee1 in the early days of BioGod, and this player has excellent split-second judgment and reaction speed. He’s particularly skilled at seizing momentum at crucial moments.”
“Oh! What kind of connection did you have with Player Seohee1? The chat is going wild right now. Former crush, first love, and so on…”
“Ah. This is a bit embarrassing to talk about, but since we’re waiting, let me briefly explain…”
[Meohyuk, please tell us about your first love.]
[A sad story that can’t be heard without tears ㅠㅠ]
“That was during the first season of the battle royale. I had climbed to quite a high ranking, but maintaining it through solo play was very difficult. I thought it would be nice to have a healer to team up with, and that’s when I encountered Seohee1 in the field. Seohee1 was taking down DPS players alone and doing it extremely well. When I checked, I found out his ranking was even higher than mine.”
“Was that the first time you met?”
“Yes. We were complete strangers…At that time, Seohee1 had long hair. The nickname also sounded like a woman’s name, so I mistakenly thought they were female!”
“Ah~ Because of the gender misunderstanding…Did you fall in love after seeing a healer getting kills so well? This is how dangerous narrow-minded thinking can be, viewers.”
“”Haha… that’s right. I chased after Seohee, formed a party, and we raised our rankings together. At that time, I uploaded a MuTube video called ‘Battle Date with Seohee,’ so my viewers also thought Seohee1 was female! But actually, he was a man! Those videos still remain on my channel as my dark history.
[There was no betrayer, only a flood of people who felt betrayed in that legendary incident.]
[The basement dwellers collectively wailed lol]
[Don’t laugh, Seohee1 was everyone’s first love back then…]
